Book a room at the conference hotel

Dear Colleagues:

We all are looking forward to our upcoming SRA Conference in Minneapolis and hope you can join us. As president of SRA, I strongly encourage you to book your room at our SRA Conference hotel, the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel.  This is to your benefit in terms of ease in booking your room as well as greater convenience and wider networking opportunities during the conference. And it is to SRA’s benefit because the success of the Biennial Meeting depends on registrants using the contracted SRA hotel (Hilton Minneapolis Hotel) to offset the sizable costs of producing the meeting and expo. Because SRA promises a certain number of filled hotel rooms as a condition of reduced rates for the hotel’s conference facilities (which allows us to keep registration fees relatively low), the risk of significant financial penalties (attrition fees) increases with each registrant who stays in a non-SRA hotel. Thus, to make a point we have made before, we are all in this together. As an SRA member and SRA Conference attendee, staying at our conference hotel will benefit us all and allow SRA to direct more funds to membership benefits and programming advances.

Thank you and see you in Minneapolis!

Lisa Crockett, SRA President

A Note of Caution: As the date of an event draws closer, exhibitors and attendees are from time to time subjected to improper solicitation from unaffiliated hotels or third-party housing agencies. If you are contacted by anyone asking if you “need a room at the upcoming SRA Biennial Meeting” or representing themselves as the “SRA Housing Bureau,” please get as much information as you can – such as name of the company, the person calling, and their telephone number – and immediately email these details to biennialmeeting@s-r-a.org.

Poachers typically offer a lower rate than the official block rate. With that, room reservations may be offered at significantly lower quality. In other circumstances, cancellation polices are often harsh and unforgiving. DO NOT make any reservations through unknown companies. Most importantly, do not provide them your personal information, especially your credit card number. These rogue companies (commonly referred to as “pirates” or “bandits”) may charge your credit card for services not rendered. For these reasons, and to support our efforts to give you a quality event, we encourage you to book your housing accommodations using the link provided by SRA on this website.
