SRA COVID-19 Network Early Career Scholars Fellowship
The Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA) has partnered with the John Templeton Foundation and the International Consortium of Developmental Science Societies to create a mentored research opportunity for early-career scholars from around the world to study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth development. Early career scholars in the SRA COVID-19 Network Program will:
- Attend the virtual SRA Pre-Conference on COVID-19 and Adolescent Development on February 9 from 8 am-1 pm U.S. Eastern time (registration free but required) to learn about opportunities for international collaboration and to meet with senior mentors who will support their work.
- Be eligible for travel funds to support their in-person attendance (when possible) at the SRA Conference in New Orleans from March 3-5, 2022 (or their online registration fee for the conference when travel is not possible) to meet again with their mentors for project planning.
- Submit proposals for seed grants of $10,000 to support their ongoing research collaborations.
- Attend a virtual meeting with other fellows in the following year for further training on manuscripts and grant submissions for international scholars.
Eligible scholars will be:
- Enrolled in a PhD program or within 10 years of earning their professional or doctoral degree
- Engaged in research regarding adolescent development
- Hold positions at institutions that support research
Evaluation Criteria:
- Quality of candidate
- Quality of research idea
- Focus of research on youth in low- and middle-income countries
- Scholars from low- and middle-income countries
To Apply:
- Submit a 1-page CV and a statement up to 300 words describing why you would like to participate in the SRA COVID-19 Network Program and your work to date (or work you hope to do in the future) related to adolescents and the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Applications are due December 8, and funding decisions will be announced by the end up December.
