Society for Research on Adolescence

As a community of researchers, we aim to advance the understanding of adolescence and enhance the wellbeing of youth in a globalized world. We promote high-quality research that considers the biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of development in context. We aim to lead scientific and public discourse on youth and adolescence, and to guide the areas of parenting, education and schooling, health and wellness, and policy. In order to achieve these goals, we prioritize relevant, diverse, and global perspectives and foster the professional development and growth of all members.

If you are conducting research and/or working in service of adolescence, SRA is a community for you! SRA provides exceptional professional development in research and networking opportunities for impact.  Membership is open to any individual who has contributed to, is interested in, or has furthered research on topics relevant to adolescent development. SRA members include practitioners, professionals, and graduate students in psychology, human development, family studies, education, public policy, sociology, social work, psychiatry, pediatrics, public health, and many other areas. Students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate study qualify for student membership.

SRA's Anti-Racism and Social Justice Practices

SRA is committed to policies and practices that demonstrate, in words and actions, that our organization is inclusive, equitable, and just, for everyone. We will leverage SRA members’ research on development to inform policies and practices that contribute to more equitable opportunities and flourishing lives. SRA Executive Council, in collaboration with a Presidentially, appointed ad hoc committee, will be charged with reviewing and evaluating SRA’s policies and practices for racialized impact and develop action plans to eliminate racism and social injustice.
